My Approach
I am a conversational, laid-back therapist who takes a person-centered approach to therapy. I like to focus on creating a space where my clients feel safe, comfortable and not pressured to perform or do therapy the “correct way”. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel understood.
I see myself as an equal, working alongside my clients. My style is grounded, curious, and honest, while also acknowledging we are all humans who are imperfect. I aim to meet my clients where they are and work and learn together to make meaningful changes.
Who I work with
I work with individuals 18 + who feel exhausted from carrying too much for too long. Whether it’s work stress, burnout, complicated family dynamics, or relationship issues. My clients are usually thoughtful and self-aware, yet are stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, guilt, or shame.
Many of my clients struggle with setting and maintaining boundaries, often questioning whether they are being “mean” or “dramatic”, especially in dating, family, or workplace relationships.
I also work with clients who have experienced trauma, emotionally and physically unsafe relationships, or chronic invalidation.
I prioritize meeting my clients where they are at, moving at their pace, to give back the power they may have lost.
How I work
My sessions tend to be very collaborative and flexible. In some sessions, we may focus on processing deep topics, and in some sessions, we may focus on more surface-level topics, even chatting about pop culture. I let my clients guide the sessions, while I may suggest various topics previously covered if you aren’t sure where to start. There’s no expectation to have it all figured out.
I tend to ask thoughtful questions, reflect on patterns I notice, and gently challenge you when something feels important. I also provide psychoeducation as much as possible so clients can really understand patterns to implement change. I like to move at my client’s pace because I believe they are the experts in their lives and will prioritize specific topics as they are ready to address them.
I believe growth rarely happens perfectly or all at once. I do not expect anyone to get it right on the first try. I like to think of it as practice, and mistakes are a part of the learning process. We experiment, reflect, and make adjustments as needed.
Getting Started
I accept most major insurance plans and private pay. A limited number of sliding scale spots are offered. I am available for both in-person and telehealth sessions. My hours are generally M, T, Th, F, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Just ask if you need hours outside my scheduled availability because I may be able to accommodate. If you feel we may be a good fit, send me an email to get started!
